In the new John Gray Centre the Archives service and the Local History service will be operating as one to form the 'Archives and Local History Centre' (took us a while to think up that title!). We are looking forward to offering an improved service in improved facilities.
At the moment we’re discussing the layout for the searchroom with the design team and working on getting our collections ready for the big move from Library HQ in Dunbar Road, Haddington to the new centre.
As well as moving the collections from Dunbar Road we will also be receiving the East Lothian archives back from the National Archives of Scotland – we’re going to be busy!
