Footprints in the Landscape logoFootprints in the Landscape was the first exhibition in the JGC by the East Lothian Council Archaeology Service.

As well as the objects, people have left traces across the landscape for thousands of years. From cropmarks and earthworks to castles and historic buildings, we can see their ‘footprints’ on the landscape today.

Here you can explore the exhibition online, and view the objects. During the exhibition we also held a range of events and activities for adults and children to explore further, and there are some tips, tricks and activities you can read or download at ‘dig deeper’. Let us know if you’d like us to run similar activities in the future – and keep an eye open for more during Archaeology & Local History Fortnight, starting on 30th August this year!
