Put on your own exhibition or display case!
At the John Gray Centre we have a special area for temporary exhibitions. This is in the beautiful, naturally lit room overlooking Market Street, and exhibitions here generally stay for about three months. We currently have quite a few exhibitions booked in, but if you’d like to propose an exhibition for the future, download our exhibition application and information form and email or post it to us.
We also have four ‘Personal View’ cases, which are likely to change once or twice a year. The first displays here were created with items from the East Lothian Council Museum Store by: Bonnie Prince Charlie (Arran Johnstone of the Prestonpans Battle Trust), Museum volunteer Nigel Kenworthy, Claire Pannell, our Collections Officer and Haddington Rotary Club. A second display, about the history of curling in East Lothian, replaced the Rotary Club display.
Currently the display focuses on the story of West Barns and it’s history, particularly relating to the village’s social, industrial and cultural past.
