The Front Room: Live Acoustic Music at the John Gray Centre
The Front Room is a series of three live acoustic music events taking place in the Star Room at the John Gray Centre, in partnership with Lamp House Music, the Haddington Music Initiative, ELJam and Jewel & Esk college.
We will be showcasing up-and-coming bands, local talent and local youth bands. We are lucky to have a very rich musical heritage and there is no shortage of talented musicians in East Lothian!
The first gig is on Friday 28th September. The main acts are Blueflint (the day after our event they are off on a European tour with the Proclaimers) and Caroline Gilmour, a very talented singer-songwriter who is coming to the end of a Scottish tour, as well as a youth band from the HMI.
‘The Front Room’ will be an atmospheric venue, with cardboard artworks based on things you might have seen in living rooms from the past – and which are now in our museum collection (you have to see it really!).
We’ll be uploading photos from the event soon after the first gig, so keep an eye open!!
For these gigs there will even be a licensed bar, which opens at 7pm, first act at 7.30pm.
Tickets are on sale now in the John Gray Centre library for £8.
There is a Front Room Facebook page too – have a look and tell us what you think!
